In brief

OCTA Route 50, “Long Beach to Orange via Katella Ave”, is the bus whose timetable confirms a stop in Anaheim: its August 9, 2026 edition lists a timepoint at Katella & Harbor and another at the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC), and OCTA’s regular fare is $2.00 one way. The rail option is Metro’s A Line to Union Station, 66 minutes on the printed weekday table, where the map shows Amtrak and Metrolink.

  • Route 50 is a local OCTA bus: eastbound from 7th & Channel, it passes Katella & Los Alamitos, Katella & Beach, Katella & Brookhurst and Katella & Harbor1.
  • Route 50 timetable effective August 9, 2026; the weekday table shows trips about every 18 minutes at peaks and about every 30 minutes midday1.
  • OCTA regular fare: $2.00 one way, with a daily cap of $4.50 on Wave and $5.00 with contactless payment3.
  • Metro A Line: $1.75 a ride, capped at $5 a day; Downtown Long Beach to Union Station is 66 minutes on the printed table45.
  • No source cited on this page gives a driving distance or time, or a walking distance from Katella & Harbor to a park entrance1.

Visitors based in Long Beach often want a day in Anaheim without a car, and the official pages split the answer across three operators: Long Beach Transit, OCTA and Metro. This page sets out what each publishes as of October 2026 and says plainly where the published trail stops. The Long Beach side of the trip, from airport to ferry to rail, is in the section pillar, Getting In and Out of Long Beach.

By OCTA bus: Route 50

OCTA lists “50 Long Beach – Orange” among its local routes, and the route’s printed timetable is headed “Long Beach to Orange via Katella Ave”, effective August 9, 202612. The timetable’s timepoints, in eastbound order, are 7th & Channel, Katella & Los Alamitos, Katella & Beach, Katella & Brookhurst, Katella & Harbor, Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC), Katella & Glassell and Village At Orange1. A sample Monday to Friday trip from the printed table:

  1. 7th & Channel
  2. OCTA Route 50 eastbound, Monday to Friday, the 10:09 trip: Katella & Los Alamitos 10:22, Katella & Beach 10:39, Katella & Brookhurst 10:48, Katella & Harbor 11:001
  3. Katella & Harbor

That is 51 minutes on the printed table for the 10:09 trip; times at other hours differ, so read the row for your departure1. The same trip continues to ARTIC at 11:131.

Spacing on the printed table1:

Day Pattern
Monday to Friday First trip leaves 7th & Channel at 4:00; about every 18 minutes in the morning and mid-afternoon to early evening, and about every 30 minutes midday and in the evening, with hourly trips after about 9:42 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and holidays About every 40 minutes through the day; some trips are marked as Saturday only

The map on the timetable labels Disneyland, the Anaheim Convention Center, Honda Center and Angel Stadium of Anaheim, and lists OCTA routes 43, 83, 543 and 553 and Metro 460 among its connection notes near Harbor1. The timetable gives no walking distance or time from Katella & Harbor to a park entrance. This page does not supply one.

The Long Beach end

The route’s western terminus on the timetable is 7th & Channel, and the map labels the CSULB area and the VA Hospital near that end, with Long Beach Transit routes 41, 81, 91, 92 and 93 and Metro 577 among its connection notes1. The Route 50 map names those connecting routes, but neither OCTA’s page nor Long Beach Transit’s gives a downtown itinerary to that stop, so the first leg of a bus-only trip from downtown is not published here.

Fares and transfers

OCTA’s regular fare is “$2.00” one way. On Wave, “Ride FREE with Wave after spending” $4.50 in a day or $69.00 in a calendar month; with contactless payment the free point is $5.00 in a day with no monthly cap. “Up to three children (age 5 and under) ride free with each fare-paying customer”, and cash on board carries no free transfers or capping3. The page also states that Wave “launches October 15”3.

From Long Beach Transit, the fares page says of OCTA: “An Interagency Transfer is issued for 50¢ upon receipt of adequate cash fare or a valid pass”; its “exclusively on TAP using Stored Value” wording ties to transfers between Los Angeles County agencies, not to OCTA6. “OCTA does not issue Interagency Transfers but accepts LBT’s Interagency Transfers as long as the time, date and direction of travel (one-way) are valid”, and LBT accepts an OCTA Day Pass for one ride at the point of connection6.

By train: the A Line and Union Station

Metro’s A Line timetable, effective June 7, 2026, runs northbound from Downtown Long Beach to Union Station, where the map marks Amtrak, Metrolink and the LAX FlyAway4. The printed weekday table shows 66 minutes from Downtown Long Beach to Union Station, for example 10:12 a.m. to 11:18 a.m., with departures from Downtown Long Beach about every 8 to 12 minutes4. The fare is $1.75, with a $5 daily cap5:

  1. Downtown Long Beach
  2. Metro A Line northbound, 66 minutes on the printed table, $1.7545
  3. Union Station

ARTIC, the Anaheim station on OCTA’s map, is marked there with Metrolink and Amtrak1. The through trip between the two stations is not covered by the pages cited here, so the total door-to-door time and cost for a train combination cannot be stated here.

Where to check For the A Line, Metro’s timetable and fares page; for Route 50, OCTA’s route page and its printed timetable (octa.net); for the Metrolink or Amtrak leg, those operators’ schedules for your date145.

By car or taxi

No page cited here states a driving distance or time between Long Beach and Anaheim. The one published figure is a taxi flat rate: Long Beach Airport’s ground-transportation page lists “Disneyland /Anaheim Convention Center” at $50 from the airport taxi stand, alongside a metered rate of $3.10 base fee plus $2.97 per mile; the page prints no date, so confirm it with the taxi company7. Parking at the destination is the park’s own information; for downtown Long Beach parking, if the return leg ends in a car left behind, see Downtown Long Beach Parking by Trip.

If a ride out of Long Beach also starts at the airport, Long Beach Airport for Visitors covers its ground transport, and LAX to Long Beach covers the other airport. The site earns a commission on some hotel, ticket, transfer and parking links, which does not affect what is recommended.

The transit route above costs a few dollars and takes the better part of two hours; a private transfer is the other end of the scale. One listing sold through Viator covers the Long Beach pickups:

  • You want a door-to-door car from Long Beach to the Anaheim Resort. See the Los Angeles private car service to or from the Anaheim Resort. The listing names Long Beach Airport and the Long Beach cruise port among its pickup points and describes the transfer as private and non-shared; Viator’s page prints the price per person with group discounts, a 45-minute to one-hour ride, a luggage allowance of one medium bag plus a carry-on per guest, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before8.
