In brief
No page published by Carnival, the city or the tourism bureau gives a walking time from any hotel to the Long Beach Cruise Terminal at 231 Windsor Way, so this page gives addresses and what the hotels themselves state instead. Two hotels state a terminal shuttle on their own pages: The Maya (700 Queensway Drive) and The Cove Hotel (200 E Willow Street), each with parking for up to 7 nights.
- The terminal is at 231 Windsor Way, Long Beach, CA 90802, alongside the Queen Mary12.
- The Maya’s “Bon Voyage Park & Cruise” offer includes a terminal shuttle that “must be scheduled with the Front Desk upon arrival”3.
- The Cove Hotel’s cruise package “Includes 1-night accommodation, parking for up to 7 nights while you’re on your cruise, and transportation to and from the Long Beach Cruise Terminal”5.
- The free Passport (Long Beach Transit route 37) runs Friday to Sunday and reaches the terminal stop from 10th & Pine in 19 minutes on the printed table7.
- Terminal parking is listed at $23 a day by the tourism bureau on an undated page; Carnival’s own page gives no rate12.

Where to book Current rates for the hotels on this page, sorted by distance to the terminal.
If you are choosing a hotel for a Long Beach sailing, the first thing to know is what is not published. No page gives a measured hotel-to-terminal walking time or distance, though two make general claims (below), and the tourism bureau’s hotel list gives addresses and phone numbers12612. A map with measured walking minutes is planned for this site; until then this page sticks to street addresses, the offers hotels print on their own pages, and the public transit that is documented. It belongs to the section pillar, Getting In and Out of Long Beach.
The short answer
| If you are… | Do this |
|---|---|
| Looking for a hotel that states a terminal shuttle and parking | The Maya, 700 Queensway Drive, or The Cove Hotel, 200 E Willow Street. Each states both on its own page35 |
| Wanting a room on the same waterfront as the ship | The Queen Mary hotel is at 1126 Queens Highway and the terminal sits alongside the ship; check the hotel’s own page for a cruise offer26 |
| Staying downtown without a hotel shuttle | The Passport, route 37, free, Friday to Sunday only; the stops are 10th & Pine, Long Beach Blvd & 1st, Shoreline & Village and Queen Mary / Cruise Terminal7 |
| Driving to the terminal | Parking is listed at $23 a day, but Carnival says terminal parking “is limited” and that some sailings use off-site parking12 |
What the sources say about distance
No page gives a measured walking time or distance, and two make general claims. The tourism bureau’s cruise-terminal page says any hotel in the greater Long Beach area is “only a few short minutes away from the Cruise Terminal”2, and the city’s parking site says the Queen Mary Hotel and Shops are “just steps away from the terminal”12. Carnival’s terminal page gives the address and a parking warning, the tourism bureau gives parking and document rules, and the Queen Mary’s parking page says only that “Rideshare and drop-offs are available within walking distance of the ship”129. None of them measures a walk from a hotel.
The hotels do not measure it either. The Maya’s page describes the hotel as “Located across Queensway Bay in Downtown Long Beach” and mentions “a walking path to local attractions and Downtown”, then offers a terminal shuttle by appointment43. A hotel that sells a shuttle has not told you the walk is short or long, so treat the distance as unknown until you have a measured route.
Hotels that state a cruise shuttle or package
These are the hotels whose own pages state a cruise offer. Other hotels may have one; check each hotel’s page.
| Hotel | Address | What its own page states |
|---|---|---|
| The Maya | 700 Queensway Drive, 90802 | “Bon Voyage Park & Cruise”: “complimentary parking for one vehicle for up to 7 nights” and “shuttle service to and from the Long Beach Cruise Terminal”. “Shuttle times may vary and must be scheduled with the Front Desk upon arrival.” Standard check-in is 4:00 p.m., and “Early check-in is based on availability and is not guaranteed”3 |
| The Cove Hotel | 200 E Willow Street, 90806 | A Long Beach Cruise Package that “Includes 1-night accommodation, parking for up to 7 nights while you’re on your cruise, and transportation to and from the Long Beach Cruise Terminal”5 |
Neither page prints a package rate or a distance. The Maya’s offer is aimed at guests arriving a night before sailing, and its homepage also mentions “a complimentary downtown shuttle”34.
Hotel addresses in downtown Long Beach and nearby
The tourism bureau’s hotel list gives the following addresses. It states no shuttle information per property, so a cruise offer, if any, is on each hotel’s own page6.

The bureau’s own general claim is that “Long Beach offers more than 5,000 rooms citywide, most within walking distance of conference facilities, entertainment and dining”6. That is a statement about the city’s hotels as a group, not about the cruise terminal.
Getting from a downtown hotel to the terminal without a shuttle
The Passport, route 37. Long Beach Transit’s schedule effective August 23, 2026 runs the Passport south from 10th & Pine to Long Beach Blvd & 1st, Shoreline & Village, and Queen Mary / Cruise Terminal, with separate Friday, Saturday and Sunday tables7. On the Friday table a trip leaving 10th & Pine at 6:26 reaches the terminal stop at 6:45, a 19-minute ride, and the Shoreline & Village leg to the terminal is nine minutes on the same trip7. Trips run about every 30 minutes; the first printed trip leaves 10th & Pine at 6:26 and the last printed trip arrives at the terminal at 11:107. The table prints no a.m. or p.m. markers, so read the PDF for the hour you need. Long Beach Transit’s homepage has a “Free Downtown Passport” button10.
The Passport has no regular Monday-to-Thursday service, with Saturday service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 18, 2027. Anyone sailing on those days needs another way: a hotel shuttle, a rideshare or driving.
Water taxis. Do not plan around them. Long Beach Transit’s page says “Regular AquaLink and AquaBus service has ended for the season. Regular service will return in 2027.” and “AquaBus will be out of service until further notice.”8 The 2026 schedule PDF is headed “TO LABOR DAY, SEPT. 7, 2026”11. Concert-day service between the Aquarium and the Queen Mary is listed at $12 round trip8.
Rideshare and taxi. The Queen Mary’s page says rideshare and drop-offs are available “within walking distance of the ship”9. Carnival’s page publishes no pick-up or drop-off rules, so confirm them in the instructions Carnival emails before sailing.
Parking at the terminal if you drive
Visit Long Beach lists terminal parking at “$23 per day (rates subject to change)”, with “0-30 minutes – No charge, 31 to 59 minutes $4.00, 1 to 2 hours $8.00″ and a height limit of 7’0”; oversized vehicles cannot use the garage and guests “must make alternate/offsite parking arrangements”2. That page carries no date, and Carnival’s own page publishes no rate.
Good to know Carnival’s page says “Cruise terminal parking is limited. Off-site parking has been secured for certain sailings,” and tells guests to “review their emails communications to determine whether off-site parking is mandatory for their voyage”1. Carnival’s number for terminal parking questions, as listed by Visit Long Beach, is (800) 764-74192. For parking in the downtown garages and lots, see Downtown Long Beach Parking by Trip.
The hotel packages above are the documented alternative to terminal parking: each includes parking for up to 7 nights35. For the Passport’s other stops and the A Line, see Long Beach Transit in 2026. For bags before or after sailing, see Luggage Storage in Long Beach Before or After a Cruise. The site earns a commission on some hotel, ticket, transfer and parking links, which does not affect what is recommended.

One listing sold through Viator is built around the disembarkation day rather than the hotel:
- You disembark in the morning and fly from LAX in the evening. See the city tour of Los Angeles from the Long Beach and San Pedro cruise terminals. The listing describes an 8-hour day through downtown, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Venice with “space for all your luggage”, and a drop-off at LAX at 4:30 p.m., at a hotel near LAX, or back at the ship.
