In brief
The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach race site gives “April 16-18, 2027”, but the 2027 street closures, shuttles and transit detours are not published; the closure facts below are the City’s 2026 notice of April 6, 2026. Circuit parking is pre-paid and limited, and the official rideshare drop-off point is “First St. between Elm and Long Beach Blvd.”.
- Dates: the home page says “Next Event: APRIL 16-18, 2027”, and the City’s parking site lists the same dates110.
- Tickets: “SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18” and “ON SALE 11/13” appear on the tickets page with no year printed4.
- 2026 closures: the City listed April 10-11 and April 15 to 20, 2026, for a weekend of April 17-19, 202689.
- Parking: the tickets page prints $80 (Pike, 3 days), $70 (Shoreline, 3 days) and $35 (Shoreline, one day), with no year4.
- Transit: in 2026 the Passport had “no service to Shoreline Village or the Aquarium of the Pacific” on race weekend9.

Where to book Current rates for race weekend; downtown sells out early.
This page collects what the Grand Prix, the City and Long Beach Transit publish about reaching the race weekend, as of October 2026. For the wider picture of how people reach downtown, start with the section pillar, Getting In and Out of Long Beach.
The notices that matter on the ground, such as closures, detours and any shuttle, do not exist yet. Every closure fact below is therefore labelled with the year it was published for, and the parking, drop-off and ticket pages that print no year are said to print none. The only 2027 facts are the dates, from the race site and the City’s parking site; the ticket on-sale lines print no year.
The short answer
| If you are… | Do this |
|---|---|
| Planning dates for 2027 | The race site says April 16-18, 2027; Thursday, April 15 lists two events marked “TBD”12 |
| Wanting the closed streets | No 2027 list is published; the 2026 closures ran April 10-11 and April 15 to 20, 20268 |
| Driving to the circuit | Parking is pre-paid through the Grand Prix ticket office and limited; reserved lots open at 7:00 a.m.5 |
| Arriving by rideshare or taxi | The official drop-off point is First St. between Elm and Long Beach Blvd.6 |
| Arriving by rail | The race site lists the Metro A Line and Metrolink and gives no walking distance6 |
The 2027 dates
The home page reads “Next Event: APRIL 16-18, 2027”1. The City’s parking site lists “Grand Prix of Long Beach : April 16 – 18, 2027” under pre-paid special-event parking10. The 2026 weekend was April 17-19, 20269.
The 2027 weekend-schedule page says the “full schedule” will be “published at a later date”. It lists only Thursday, April 15, 2027: the Long Beach Motorsports Walk of Fame Ceremony (11:00 a.m. to noon, South Pine Avenue in front of the Convention Center) and Thunder Thursday at The Pike Outlets (6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), both marked “TBD”. Friday to Sunday show “No items found”2.
Official pages disagree The home page and the City’s parking site give April 16-18, 2027110. The header of the race site’s “2027 Circuit Map” PDF reads “April 12-18, 2027”3. The map does not say what April 12 to 14 covers. Plan around April 16-18 and treat the earlier days as unexplained.
Tickets and the on-sale date
The home page lists “October 2 Ticket Renewal Deadline” and “October 18 Tickets on Sale”; the tickets page says “TICKETS GO ON SALE SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18” and “ON SALE 11/13” against the general-admission, reserved Sunday and paddock lines14. Neither page prints a year, and this page does not assign one.
The price table on the tickets page also carries no year, and the 2027 schedule is still “TBD”, so ticket prices are not repeated here as 2027 prices.
Street closures: what the City published for 2026
The circuit-map page offers the 2027 map as a PDF with no written closure list; the street layout is an image35. The only closure notice is last year’s.
The City’s press release of April 6, 2026, from the Office of Special Events and Filming, came 11 days before the April 17-19 weekend. It listed closures on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11, and again from Wednesday, April 15 through Monday, April 20, 20268.
| 2026 time | Closure, as the City’s notice words it |
|---|---|
| Wednesday, April 15, 4 a.m. | “Closure of the side streets off Shoreline Drive and Seaside Way leading into the racecourse” |
| Wednesday, April 15, 7 a.m. | Westbound Shoreline Drive, the northbound Queensway Bridge off-ramp, the southbound Queensway Bridge on-ramp from Shoreline Drive and Aquarium Way south of Shoreline Drive |
| Wednesday, April 15, 3 p.m. | Eastbound Shoreline Drive from Broadway to Ocean Boulevard |
| Race days, 6 a.m. | “Southbound Pine Avenue will close to all traffic”; interior streets of The Pike north of Shoreline Drive |
Source:8. 2026 closures; no 2027 notice has been published.
On race days Pine Avenue reopens at 7 p.m. for the Hyatt, Shoreline Village and Shoreline Marina tenants, with an exit “to the east through the Marina Green parking lot”. “Traffic flow will be restored” on Monday, April 20 at 5 p.m.8 The notice gives the Aquarium structure’s empty-by date as April 10 in one place and April 16 in another, so its closure list shows the pattern better than any single date in it8.
Circuit parking
The circuit page prints no year. It says “Parking can be reserved through the Acura Grand Prix Ticket office and is pre-paid”, that the lots “require a special parking pass” with limited spaces, and that “Reserved Parking lots open at 7:00 a.m. and close at posted times daily”. No tailgating or overnight camping is allowed, and hang-tags improperly displayed lead to towing5.
| Lot | Location, as the circuit page prints it | Sold as |
|---|---|---|
| Pike Parking | Chestnut Ave. and Seaside Way, adjacent to Turn 5; entry at Chestnut Ave. at Ocean Blvd. | 3 days only |
| Shoreline Parking | West of the circuit at the end of the 710 freeway; entry off the 710 at Broadway, right on Magnolia St., right on Ocean Blvd., left on Golden Shore Ave. | 3 days or single day |
Source:5. Prices on the tickets page, with no year printed: Pike 3-day $80; Shoreline 3-day $70; Shoreline single day $35; “No RVs or Buses”4.
The circuit page also links city-owned downtown lots for reservation5. The Convention Center’s reservation portal listed the Marathon of Long Beach 2026 and Dreamstate 2026 on October 2, 2026, not the Grand Prix11. Other garages and rates are in Downtown Long Beach Parking by Trip. For the Aquarium in 2026 the City named the Molina Healthcare garage and free shuttles8; no 2027 equivalent is published, and the Aquarium’s own page is Aquarium of the Pacific: Parking, Validation, Timed Entry and Tickets.
Drop-off, taxis and rideshare
The directions page gives the GPS address as “The Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, 300 East Ocean Boulevard”. It says: “Park your car. Take a taxi, Uber or Lyft. Hop a train or bus. Ride a bike.” For rideshare and taxis: “The official race circuit drop-off point is on First St. between Elm and Long Beach Blvd.”6.
Getting there without parking
The directions page links Long Beach Transit, AquaLink and Passport information, the Metro A Line “(formerly Blue Line)” and Metrolink6. Metro’s A Line timetable, effective June 7, 2026, lists “1st St”, “Pacific Av” and “Downtown Long Beach” among its stops; neither it nor the race site gives a walking distance from a station to a gate7.
Long Beach Transit’s 2026 detour notice is the only published transit change for a race weekend. For April 17-19, 2026 the Passport had “no service to Shoreline Village or the Aquarium of the Pacific”, routes 61 and 71 were detoured “from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. only” on April 18 and 19, and water taxi service ran as an alternative9. The service-alert list showed only September 2026 items on October 2, 2026, so no 2027 notice exists12. Water taxi status is in Long Beach Without a Car.
The directions page lists a “GoActive LB Hub” for bike rentals. The City’s page puts it at 223 E First St with hours Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed Saturday and Sunday, which are race days613. The race’s prohibited list bans “Bikes/skateboards/hoverboards” and “Scooters/powered scooters/eBikes/eTrikes” from the grounds, and no page mentions a bike valet14.
Where to stay
The race site’s directions page gives the Convention Center, 300 East Ocean Boulevard, as its GPS address6. Hotels near the Convention Center, with their own addresses and parking, are in Hotels Within Walking Distance of the Long Beach Convention Center. The site earns a commission on some hotel, ticket, transfer and parking links, which does not affect what is recommended.
